When I was first drafting up ideas for my investigation, I wanted to explore the concept of life through expressive figures. My mini series reflected that idea. However, I switched my investigation after completing the series to something lighter and happier.
Investigation #4 Guiding Question: How can I visually represent my personality through what makes me happy? Materials used: Clay board, gesso, oil paint, Gamsol, brushes. Processes used: I first stated out priming the board with gesso before laying down the initial oil sketch. Then once the primer had dried, I thinned ultramarine with Gamsol and lightly sketched the outline. After that, I layered my colors; blocking in the light and dark values that stood out the most and then built up the detail. Size: (8x8")
